If you’ve been in the Shoppe at some point in the last couple of years, you may have been helped by Vince, one of our cashiers and customer service staff.
His care for our customers, attention to detail and problem-solving skills have contributed to our store being the place where you can find what you need in Clearwater since 1989.
How did we get so lucky? Read on to find out:
Q. How much customer service experience do you have?
A. I started in the field at 14 years old and have worked customer service on and off for the last 25 years. I’ve worked in various customer service related jobs ranging from retail, phone and internet to Pharmacy Technician, where I would help customers purchase the correct product for treatment of their ailments.
Q. What do you like best about working at the One Stoppe Shoppe?
A. One of the main things that I like about working at One Stoppe Shoppe are the customers. Our customers are happy, good people that are easy to chat with. It’s fun getting to know the regulars and developing a good relationship with them.
I feel the most important thing I do for the customers is show them that I really do appreciate that they chose our store to come shop. They can take their money anywhere, but they thought of us first. That makes me want to do all I can to accommodate them and to make their shopping experience with us awesome.
The other thing I like about working at OSS is that it’s not repetitious. There’s always something to do and ALWAYS something new to learn.
Q. What was your dream job as a kid?
A. Growing up I really wanted to be a pilot. I did a lot of flying as a little kid. It always fascinated me that something so heavy could not only go so fast but could also do it while in the air. To this day when I hear an airplane or helicopter flying by I will still stare up at it in a sort of awe.
Q. What do you do for fun when you’re not here helping customers?
A. For fun I like to read, hang out with my family (that includes taking the kiddos to parks, arcades, pools, bowling allies, etc.) and do puzzle- type things (I like challenges).
Many thanks to Vince for taking a moment to chat with us!
